Job Title: Project Manager / Site Agent (Civil Engineer)
Location: Blackheath, Cape Town
Salary: R60 000 per month
Reporting to: Operations Manager

About the Role:

A well-established construction company is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager / Site Agent with a Civil Engineering background to oversee multiple construction sites. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in water treatment and stormwater works and will be responsible for managing projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage multiple construction sites, ensuring smooth execution of projects.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate all phases of construction to meet project deadlines.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations.
  • Manage project budgets, monitor expenditures, and control costs.
  • Liaise with clients, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Conduct site inspections, assess progress, and resolve any technical or operational challenges.
  • Implement quality control procedures and ensure all work meets required standards.
  • Provide leadership and direction to site teams, including foremen and construction workers.
  • Prepare and present project reports to the Operations Manager and other stakeholders.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • Proven experience in water treatment and stormwater works is essential.
  • Ability to manage multiple sites simultaneously with strong organizational skills.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a Project Manager or Site Agent role within the civil engineering/construction sector.
  • Excellent understanding of construction contracts, procurement, and site management.
  • Proficiency in BuildSmart software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid drivers license and willingness to travel to various sites as needed.

Additional Relevant Skills:

  • Experience with municipal infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge of trenchless rehabilitation and pipeline construction.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and environmental compliance in civil projects.
