Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Professional Structural Engineer or Technologist based in George. The role involves conducting structural analysis and calculations, performing construction monitoring site visits, technical report writing, designing and planning structural systems, reviewing technical drawings, managing projects and project teams and collaborating to ensure project success. The appointee will actively contribute to innovative and efficient solutions while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Responsibilities also include managing project timelines and supporting the implementation process from start to finish.

Qualifications

• Professional registration with ECSA as a Pr.Eng or Pr.Tech (minimum requirement)
• Proficiency in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape (Afrikaans, English, Xhosa)
• Relevant degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (minimum B.Tech).
• Valid driver's license and own reliable vehicle
• Proven technical report writing skills
• Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
• Strong expertise in Structural Engineering, including Structural Analysis and calculations.
• Proficiency in Civil Engineering principles and practices.
• Experience with design and drafting software (e.g. AutoCAD, Padds, Prokon, Revit, Robot etc.).
• Demonstrated ability to manage municipal infrastructure projects efficiently while adhering to deadlines and budgets.
• Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills.
• Familiarity with industry regulations and standards is an advantage.
