Job Description

This is a great opportunity for a Front Arena Product Engineer to step into a lead role and take ownership of solution enhancements for the Investment Banking Division (IBD) of one of South Africa’s top Corporate and Investment Banks.

THE COMPANY

This is the investment banking arm of one of Africa’s largest financial institutions. The division delivers financing, advisory, and trading solutions to corporates, institutions, and public sector clients across the continent.

With a strong focus on capital markets, structured lending, M&A, and investment advisory, they partner with clients to execute complex, high-impact deals. Their work plays a key role in funding infrastructure, energy, and corporate growth projects across Africa.

THE ROLE

As the Front Arena Product Engineer, you’ll lead solution delivery for the IBD Loans book. The role is hands‑on and focused on resolving complex production issues, implementing key BAU enhancements, and supporting long‑term system evolution. You’ll be working closely with Python, Power BI, and the Front Arena platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver code fixes and BAU enhancements in Front Arena – covering production issues and ongoing improvements.
• Implement changes across key Front Arena objects: Trades, Instruments, Cashflows, Settlements, Confirmations, and custom business logic.
• Lead on solution direction and data strategy.
• Build and maintain Power BI dashboards for internal stakeholders.
• Work closely with both technical teams and business users to gather requirements and provide updates.

THE REQUIREMENTS

5+ years of Front Arena development experience in financial services.

Strong Python (v3) skills – particularly for scripting and system customisation in Front Arena.

Experience in corporate / investment banking – ideally within structured or syndicated loans.

Working knowledge of Power BI for reporting and visualisation.
