Job summary
A local procurement company in Alberton seeks a candidate for a procurement role responsible for sourcing suppliers, negotiating prices, and managing inventory control. The ideal candidate should have a matric certificate, previous experience in procurement, good negotiating skills, and a valid driver's license. This role demands effective communication with production and daily stock management.
Responsibilities
- Reviewing of current products and services.
- Sourcing of suppliers and negotiating the best prices.
- Making sure products get delivered on time and meet the required standards.
- Linking of supplier invoices daily.
- Placing of powder order daily before 09:00 am.
- Communicate with Production Manager and Storeman daily regarding consumables and powder issued.
- Allocating of consumables used daily for each Batch.
- Allocating of powder used daily for each Batch.
- Calculation and capturing of gas readings.
- Calculating of diesel usage.
- Printing of the re-order report.
- Get signed authorization from General Manager to order products or services.
- Place orders with suppliers for both company and clients.
- Ensure that emails sent to suppliers have been received.
- Processing of clients powder issued to company.
- Invoice powder issued by client to company.
- Create weekly stock count sheets for storeman.
- Responsible for company's and client monthly stock take.
Qualifications
Requirements
- Previous experience in procurement roles.
- Preferably resides in Alberton / Germiston
- Inventory control experience
- Good negotiating skills
- Own vehicle and valid drivers license
Duties
- Reviewing of current products and services.
- Sourcing of suppliers and negotiating the best prices.
- Making sure products get delivered on time and meet the required standards.
- Linking of supplier invoices daily.
- Placing of powder order daily before 09: 00am.
- Communicate with Production Manager and Storeman daily regarding consumables and powder issued and ensure the correct consumables and powders are issued to the correct Jobs.
- Allocating of consumables used daily for each Batch and Auto Line Ovens for day shift and night shift on Job-Sys for specific Jobs.
- Allocating of powder used daily for each Batch and Auto Line ovens for day shift and night shift for specific Jobs.
- Calculation and capturing of gas readings.
- All capturing of powder, consumables and gas readings to be completed by close of business each day.
- Calculating of diesel usage.
- Printing of the re-order report.
- Determine what needs to be ordered from suppliers from the re-order report.
- Get signed authorization from General Manager to order products or services.
- Place orders with suppliers for both company and clients to increase stock levels as per minimum and maximum quantities allowed.
- Ensure that emails sent to suppliers have been received and confirm delivery of stock ordered.
- Processing of clients powder issued to company.
- Invoice powder issued by client to company.
- Create weekly stock count sheets for storeman to count stock. (Until scanning on Jobb-Sys are implemented in storeroom).
- To be responsible for company's and client monthly stock take and ensuring that the consumables stock levels totals at month end match in the storeroom and on Job-Sys. To ensure powder kilogram totals correspond with on hand totals in the storeroom, and totals on the system.
