Description

The Process Engineering Lead must design an optimal water treatment system that meets the client's requirements based on thorough analysis of information.

It is expected that the Process Engineering Lead critically analyzes and evaluates information (with respect to quality, quantity, and accuracy) which will provide valuable feedback to applicable departments and steer the direction of the project.

Requirements
  • Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering / Process Engineering (B. Eng or equivalent).
  • Masters degree (Water related) is advantageous.
  • Minimum 4 years' experience in wastewater focused on wastewater design and implementation.
  • Practical and theoretical understanding of wastewater configuration and treatment strategies.
  • General understanding of/familiarity with Water and Wastewater Treatment Products and Services and ancillary technologies.
  • Code B Driver's license.
  • Ability to generate and interpret P&IDs.
  • System design and generation of mass/hydraulic balances for PFDs.
Duties
  • Collaborate with Business Development and Costings & Proposals in preparation of budget and final proposals.
  • Technical evaluation of tenders.
  • Interact and collaborate with the broader engineering team.
  • Evaluate engineering processes and develop treatment strategies based on research and application of existing knowledge.
  • Develop process solutions based on customer requirements.
  • Implement process design improvements based on operator/engineering feedback on existing installations/executed projects.
  • Prepare product reports by collecting, analysing, and compiling information and trends.
  • Provide detailed engineering information as required.
  • Oversee and mentor juniors/ graduates and/or interns.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge.
  • Contribute to teamwork by communicating ideas and design approach as well as completing assigned tasks.
