Job Description
Additive Manufacturing

The Additive Manufacturing Research Group within the Department of Mechanical Engineering in the Faculty School of Engineering is looking for qualified candidates to apply for a post-doctoral fellow position in additive manufacturing. Potential candidates should be highly motivated, self-driven and able to independently conduct high-quality research. The incumbent must be able to write technical research reports, publish findings in DHET-accredited peer-reviewed journals and/or conferences and carry out other tasks as delegated (e.g., postgraduate supervision / co-supervision etc.).

Minimum Requirements
  • Ph.D. in mechanical or metallurgical and materials engineering obtained within 5 years before appointment.
  • Good record of publications.
  • Hands-on expertise in materials characterization, testing and post processing.
  • Knowledge of computational modelling and simulation will be an added advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills and teamwork ability.
