MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

The TMS Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling, and managing daily transport operations through the Companys Transport Management System (TMS).

This role ensures cost-efficient routing, optimal vehicle utilisation, and high service levels while maintaining full compliance with the South African Transport Legislation and Company Safety Standards. The Planner acts as the central coordination point between operations, drivers, customers, and carriers, ensuring accurate execution, real-time problem solving, and continuous improvement in transport performance.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Matric (Grade 12)
• A Diploma or Degree in Logistics / Supply Chain Management will be advantageous
• Proficiency in MS Excel and general IT systems
• 35 years' experience in transport planning or logistics operations
• Hands‑on experience with TMS platforms (Trackmatic, Cargowise, Oracle TMS, SAP TM, FleetOps, Mix Telematics)
• Strong knowledge of South African Transport Legislation and operational constraints
• Experience with route optimisation tools
• Exposure to FMCG, retail distribution, mining, bulk logistics, or line‑haul operations
