Job description

We are looking to appoint a dedicated and qualified Pharmacist Assistant to join our clients trusted, family-owned pharmacy in Paarl. If you are passionate about patient care and committed to delivering excellent service, this is an ideal opportunity to grow within a supportive and community-focused environment.

The successful individual will report to the Owner of the Pharmacy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpreting and completing prescriptions.
  • Assisting with clinic services (blood pressure monitoring, glucose testing, cholesterol testing, and Discovery Vitality assessments).
  • Packing and organizing medication.
  • Checking expiry dates on all pharmaceutical stock.
  • Ordering medication and maintaining strong relationships with medical representatives.
  • Operating cash registers and handling sales transactions.
  • Receiving and processing orders, preparing and dispatching parcels (via telephone, WhatsApp, and email).
  • Maintaining accurate fridge and store temperature records.
  • Capturing and receiving stock from suppliers.
  • Offer guidance to customers regarding over-the-counter medication and healthcare products.
  • Support the general operations of the pharmacy when required.

Minimum Requirements

  • Qualified Pharmacist Assistant registered with the SAPC.
  • Valid registration
  • 3 years experience working within a community pharmacy environment.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacy regulations and ethical standards.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and within a team.
  • Customer-focused with a passion for quality healthcare.

Working hours:

Mondays to Fridays: 9:00 - 18:00 or 8:00 -17:00

Saturdays: 8:00 - 14:00 (2 x per month)

Sundays: 8:30 - 13:00

17:30 -20:30 (2 x per month)
