Overview
Assist with the receiving, storing, dispensing, and packing of scheduled drugs and controlled materials.
Responsibilities
Sample testing before storage
- Support the sampling of content according to required specifications
- Replace the label after “For release” is approved
Dispensing of raw material
- Perform the function of dispensing of material
- Prepare filters and tubing for the production batch
- Update information into the ERP system
Sample testing after storage
- Source the selected material and bring it to the testing area
- Support the sampling of content by required specifications
- Repack the box restock
- Conduct cycle counts and stock counts
Planning & procedure
- Independently prioritise tasks and responsibilities
- Work within established policies, practices and guidelines, as well as established quality and safety checks
Asset/ Resource coordination
- Perform reconciliation of data in situations such as short supplies and recalls
- Provide input into required changes in resources to enable achievement of own objectives
- Determine resource needs of own area of work
- Request and allocate required assets and resources for the fulfilment of work objectives
- Monitor the use of assets and resources within own area of responsibility
Technical expertise
- Identify gaps in current policies, procedures and legislation
- Facilitate implementation of processes
- Propose changes or improvements to management on processes, tools, techniques, and products
Reporting & record keeping
- Consolidate information for reports specific to area of responsibility on weekly/ monthly basis
- Compile detailed and standardised reports and consolidated documents
Requirements
Background/experience
- 1-3 years’ experience as a Pharmacist Assistant
- Minimum of a Post Basic Pharmacy Assistant Certificate
- Registration with the Pharmacy Council as a Post Basic Pharmacist Assistant
