Job summary

A leading recruitment agency in South Africa is seeking a Payroll Specialist with at least 5 years of experience in managing weekly payroll processes for over 250 employees. Responsibilities include importing wages, ensuring accurate deductions, administering UIF documentation, and compiling weekly reports. Candidates should have a Matric Certificate with Mathematics or Accounting and a relevant qualification. Knowledge of SAGE People and Kronos will be advantageous. Great communication skills are essential.

Job description
Responsibilities
  • Importing and completing the weekly wage run.
  • Managing all admin relevant to a weekly payroll
  • Ensuring all employees deductions are correctly recorded and the relevant deductions made.
  • Calculate and pay over third-party payments timeously and accurately.
  • Process employee terminations.
  • Compiling all relevant weekly reports for Production Meeting.
  • Loading and updating employee information on SAGE.
  • Inputting and updating annual wage budgets
  • Assist employees with wage queries.
  • Maintaining and updating all permanent and contract employee personal files.
  • Administering UIF documentation as required.
  • Co-ordinating monthly HR Report on turnover, absenteeism
  • Staff taxi assistance – deductions, attend meetings
  • Checking and submitting timesheets to 3rd party timeously
  • Any other ad hoc payroll related duties when required
  • Weekly payroll experience capturing weekly payroll for 200 plus employees from start to end.
  • Manage the weekly payroll process, administration and filingof approx. 250 employees
Qualifications and experience
  • Matric Certificate, preferably with Mathematics and/or Accounting
  • Certificate / diploma in basic accounting / payroll / HR
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar position
  • Sage People knowledge would be advantageous
  • Kronos time & attendance knowledge would be advantageous
  • Ability to communicate on all levels across the department
