Job summary

A financial consulting firm is looking for a skilled Payments Consultant with over 10 years of experience in payment systems integration. You will be responsible for assessing integration readiness of core banking systems and designing robust payment architectures. This role requires strong compliance knowledge, project management skills, and a deep understanding of the regulatory landscape. The position is mostly remote with some onsite meetings and requires a commitment to a 9-month full-time contract.

Job description

We are seeking the expertise of a Payments Consultant with 10+ years of experience in payments systems integration, providing expert technical, business, and regulatory guidance for seamless integration of core banking systems with domestic, regional, and international payment networks.

Proven track record in establishing robust payment architectures and operational frameworks compliant with local and international standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess the current Core Banking System (CBS) for integration readiness.
• Design a comprehensive integration architecture encompassing all payment channels.
• Facilitate integration and registration with: Central Bank of Eswatini systems (RTGS, EFT), SADC-RTGS, SWIFT, and international correspondent banks.
• Develop detailed technical interface specifications.
• Support system testing, certification, and go-live phases.
• Draft and implement payment policies, procedures, and manuals.
• Provide compliance guidance on AML/CFT, sanctions, and reporting requirements.
• Conduct training and capacity‑building sessions for internal teams.
• Produce a Final Readiness Report detailing progress, challenges, and recommendations.
