Job description
About the Role

Grade Level (for internal use): 11

We are hiring an Operations Excellence Lead to build and sustain the operating framework that enables visibility, governance, and continuous improvement across MI Technology’s portfolio. This role is not tied to a single program or tool—it is a permanent capability focused on portfolio health, time tracking compliance, and operational governance. You will design processes, integrate data, and drive adoption of practices that help leadership make informed decisions and deliver on strategic priorities.

This is an individual contributor role with extensive stakeholder engagement across business and technology teams, with the potential to evolve into a people‑leader role as the function scales.

The Team

You will join OCTO – Business Operations (MI Technology), partnering with portfolio leaders, finance, engineering, and business enablement teams. The team’s mission is to provide clarity, accountability, and efficiency across the technology investment landscape.

Responsibilities and Impact
  • Portfolio Management Framework: Define and maintain standards for portfolio and program data, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely updates across all delivery ecosystems.
  • Time Tracking Governance: Establish and enforce policies for time booking, compliance monitoring, and reporting to support financial and operational transparency.
  • Integrated Reporting: Deliver dashboards and scorecards that provide leadership with real‑time insights into portfolio health, resource allocation, and progress against strategic goals.
  • Operational Governance: Run governance forums, maintain decision logs, and ensure adherence to operating rhythms for planning, execution, and review cycles.
  • Continuous Improvement: Operate a feedback loop to refine processes, improve user experience, and identify automation opportunities.
  • Stakeholder Enablement: Lead training sessions, create user guides, and maintain a community of practice to drive adoption of standards and tools.
  • Change Leadership: Manage the impact of new processes and tools, ensuring smooth transitions and sustained adoption across teams.
What’s in it for you
  • Strategic Impact: Shape how MI Technology plans, tracks, and delivers its most critical initiatives.
  • Enduring Scope: A role anchored in governance and continuous improvement, not limited to a single platform rollout.
  • Growth Path: Exposure to senior leadership and the opportunity to expand into people leadership as the function matures.
What We’re Looking For
Basic Required Qualifications
  • 8–14 years in portfolio/program management, business operations, or product operations with a track record of building scalable governance frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of portfolio management principles, time tracking practices, and financial accountability in a technology environment.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills; ability to influence without authority.
  • Experience with reporting and analytics tools for portfolio and resource management.
  • Proven ability to drive adoption through training, documentation, and change management.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with PPM/ALM tools and integration patterns (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar).
  • Certifications such as PMP, SAFe, or Lean Six Sigma.
  • Experience in continuous improvement and operational excellence disciplines.
