A leading national company servicing multiple sectors within the equipment services sector is seeking a highly experienced Operational Support General Manager to take ownership of technical, service, and operational support functions across multiple regions.

This senior leadership role is suited to an individual with a strong track record in operations management, equipment services, and technical excellence, who can drive profitability, ensure customer satisfaction, and guide strategic support services across the organisation.

Industry: Equipment Services.

Salary: Market-related senior executive package, negotiable on experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and direct technical and service support functions, including centralised and regional repair/service facilities.
  • Ensure operational excellence in equipment performance, aftersales service, and technical standards.
  • Provide strategic support to regional operations in meeting both internal and customer requirements.
  • Manage and guide decentralised repair and aftersales execution across regions.
  • Act as the primary liaison for OEMs and technical partners, ensuring quality communication and alignment.
  • Take accountability for budget performance – including revenue, operational expenditure, and profitability (EBITDA/ROIC).

Requirements:

  • Matric (Grade 12/N3) essential; a relevant post-matric qualification (Degree) in operations, engineering, or business management will be an advantage.
  • Min 10 years of senior management experience within an operationally intensive environment.
  • Proven track record in budget control, revenue growth, and cost management.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in equipment-related industries (rental, sales, or technical services) – exposure to material handling, work-at-height, or industrial equipment will be advantageous.
  • Strong experience in OEM technical liaison and equipment performance optimisation.
