Job summary

A healthcare service provider in Tzaneen is looking for an Occupational Health Nurse to manage the clinic and deliver high-quality health services. Job description

Exciting opportunity exists for an Occupational Health Nurse, based at Life Health Solutions clinic in Tzaneen. The successful candidate will be required to work 40 hours a week. Responsible for rendering quality Occupational Health services which is effective, efficient, and meets & exceeds customers’ expectations and requirements. This position reports to the Business Manager.

Critical Outputs
  • Planning and conducting Occupational Health medical examinations as per the medical surveillance programme, legal & client requirements.
  • Managing the Occupational Health clinic to promote and establish the physical, psychological and social wellbeing of the workers in a safe working environment.
  • Trending & comparisons of employee’s health status on a year‑to‑year basis.
  • Monthly reporting.
  • Participate in risk assessments, site walkabouts.
  • Conducting of required inspections as per Life requirements, schedules and yearplan.
  • Coordinating clinic activities to ensure smooth running of clinic service.
  • Providing information the Client can utilize to eliminate, control and minimize health risks and hazards to which the employees are, or may be exposed.
  • Comply with Medicines control as per legal and Life standards and requirements.
  • Implementation of Quality processes as per legal and Life standards and requirements, in line with ISO 9001 and ISO 45001.
  • Working effectively within a budget.
  • Delivering high quality healthcare services.
  • Meeting administration needs timeously.
  • Attend client and Life meetings as required and scheduled.
  • Meeting the prescribed professional and quality standards of both Life Health Solutions and the client/s.
  • Maintain professional development requirements as per SANC.

Requirements
  • The candidates must be registered as a Registered Nurse and an Occupational Health Nurse with SANC.
  • A certificate in dispensing, audiometry, spirometry and vision screening is advantageous.
  • Registration with SASOHN as audiometrists is advantageous.
  • Candidates who are result orientated, have initiative and the ability to deliver quality outputs and reduce costs, will be most suitable for this position.
  • Customer orientation, focus and teamwork complete the profile.
  • Computer literacy (Word / Excel / PowerPoint / Outlook).
  • Own transport will be required.
