Job description
Key Responsibilities
  • Take reasonable care of your own health and safety and that of others in the workplace
  • Be mindful of how actions or inaction may impact the health and safety of others
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of health and safety procedures and comply with relevant policies and instructions
  • Identify, report, and assist in managing hazards, risks, injuries, illnesses, and incidents including near misses
  • Eliminate or mitigate health and safety risks where reasonably practicable
  • Consult with managers or health and safety representatives regarding identified risks
General Accountabilities
  • Undertake additional duties as requested by management, including project work and absence cover
  • Deliver services in line with organisational values, standards, guidelines, and contractual requirements
  • Understand and apply the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
Adhere to all organisational policies and procedures
  • Comply with Delegation Authority and Limitation of Authorities frameworks where applicable
  • Participate in relevant training, surveys, and audits to meet statutory requirements
  • Manage and maintain key internal and external working relationships
  • Adhere to the professional standards of the relevant statutory or regulatory body
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse with a current Annual Practising Certificate in New Zealand
  • Minimum of 5 years experience working within the Occupational Health scope of practice
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
  • Proven ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to perform well under pressure
  • Demonstrated competence with computer systems
  • In-depth understanding of relevant legislation, including
    • Health Information Privacy Code
    • Privacy Act
    • Health and Safety at Work Act
