Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement and maintain robust network security infrastructure to protect customers’ digital environment.
- Manage and optimize security platforms including firewalls, intrusion prevention systems (IPS), DDoS mitigation tools, VPNs, secure email gateways and Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE).
- Monitor network traffic to detect anomalies, investigate potential threats and respond promptly to security incidents.
- Conduct forensic analysis and support incident response to ensure timely containment and resolution of security events.
- Ensure compliance with cybersecurity policies, ISO / IEC 27002 standards and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Oversee the lifecycle management of digital certificates and the secure provisioning of third‑party network connections.
- Manage and resolve network security requests and incidents through the Remedy system within agreed service levels.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, configurations and incident logs to support audits and risk reporting.
- Collaborate with internal teams to identify vulnerabilities, recommend security enhancements and strengthen overall network defense.

Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science and/or Matric with 6‑8 years of Network Security experience.
- CCNP Security, CISSP or equivalent industry‑recognized security certifications.
- Minimum of 7 years experience in network security engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven experience managing and maintaining enterprise‑grade security infrastructure.
- Demonstrated expertise in incident response, threat mitigation and vulnerability remediation.
- Experience working within regulated environments and adhering to cybersecurity standards such as ISO / IEC 27002.
Key Skills and Competencies
- Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of network protocols, Cisco firewall configurations and perimeter defense technologies.
- Security Tools Proficiency: Hands‑on experience with Web Application Firewalls (WAF), Next‑Generation Firewalls (NGFW), Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), DDoS protection tools, SIEM platforms and Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE).
- Vulnerability Management: Strong understanding of OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities and the ability to assess, remediate and mitigate risks across cloud and on‑premise environments.
- Incident Response: Skilled in detecting, analyzing and responding to network security incidents and conducting forensic investigations.
- Analytical and Problem‑Solving Ability: Exceptional troubleshooting and diagnostic skills to identify and resolve complex network security issues.
- Regulatory and Compliance Awareness: Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and standards, particularly ISO / IEC 27002 and related regulatory obligations.
- Documentation and Reporting: Ability to maintain accurate technical records, incident logs and contribute to audit and risk reporting.
- Collaboration and Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively across technical teams and convey security issues to non‑technical stakeholders.
