Job summary

A healthcare diagnostics company in Carletonville is seeking a Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist to ensure compliance with health and safety measures, perform laboratory tests, and maintain equipment. The ideal candidate holds a diploma or bachelor's degree in Biomedical Technology or Health Science, with registration from the HPCSA. The role requires strong analytical skills, a commitment to teamwork, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Previous laboratory experience is a must.

Qualifications

  • 0 - 5 years of experience required in a related field.
  • Must be registered with the HPCSA as a Medical Technologist in Clinical Pathology.
  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Technology/Health Science required.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety measures at all times.
  • Perform preventive equipment maintenance per schedule.
  • Record temperature readings and equipment maintenance.
  • Conduct tests in accordance with SOPs and verify test results.
  • Identify and report any abnormal results as per SOP.
  • Participate in continuing professional development (CPD).

Previous experience in a laboratory or medical setting
Comfortable using medical technologies and laboratory equipment
