Job Title: Marketing Assistant Toy Distribution (LEGO Official Distributor)

Our client is a leading toy distribution company based in Kempton Park, South Africa, and the official distributor of LEGO products throughout Sub-Saharan Africa. With a strong commitment to innovation and fun, they are looking for a dynamic, creative Marketing Assistant to join their growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in driving the LEGO brand and creating engaging, out-of-the-box promotions.

Position Overview:
As the Marketing Assistant, you will work closely with the marketing team to support and implement creative campaigns that drive brand awareness, customer engagement, and sales. You will be responsible for creating eye-catching content for social media, organizing promotions and events, and coming up with fresh, innovative ideas to excite both consumers and retail partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Social Media Management: Create and schedule engaging, creative posts across social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.) to promote our customersbrand and interact with their audience.
  • Content Creation: Use tools such as Canva (and other design platforms) to design creative content (graphics, videos, and photos) that aligns with the LEGO brand.
  • Promotions & Campaigns: Conceptualize and execute exciting, out-of-the-box promotions (e.g., giveaways, discounts, events) to boost sales and engage customers.
  • Event Planning: Assist in organizing and executing special events like holiday promotions, Back-to-School campaigns, and other seasonal activities to drive brand visibility and retail sales.
  • Brand Consistency: Ensure all marketing materials and communications are consistent with LEGO's global brand guidelines.
  • Market Research: Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to identify new opportunities for creative marketing strategies.
  • Reporting & Analytics: Assist in tracking the performance of marketing campaigns, providing insights to improve future promotions.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Education: Preferred, Bachelors degree or equivalent in Marketing, Communications, related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of marketing experience, ideally in a retail, toy, or distribution environment.
  • Design Skills: Proficiency in design tools such as Canva (experience with Adobe Creative Suite or similar is a plus) to create eye-catching and shareable content.
  • Creativity: A strong creative mindset with the ability to generate innovative and engaging marketing ideas to drive sales and build brand awareness.
  • Social Media Knowledge: Understanding of social media trends, audience engagement strategies, and platform-specific content creation.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent time management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and campaigns.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills with an eye for detail.
  • Proactive: Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with the marketing team.
  • Location: Candidates should ideally be based on the East Rand of Johannesburg or willing to commute to the Kempton Park area.
