An exciting leadership opportunity has opened within a global energy group driving Africa’s clean power transition. We’re looking for a strategic, hands -on Managing Director to lead one of the group’s flagship solar power generation assets based in Johannesburg.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned energy professional with a strong grasp of project finance, plant operations, stakeholder management, and performance optimization. You’ll be responsible for steering a multidisciplinary team, overseeing O&M and EPC partnerships, and safeguarding the long‑term value of a major renewable asset.

What You’ll Do:
  • Lead all operational, financial, and governance aspects of the company
  • Ensure compliance with commercial and regulatory agreements
  • Drive plant performance and asset optimization
  • Represent the business to key partners, lenders, and authorities
  • Champion HSE excellence, ESG initiatives, and sustainable growth
What You’ll Bring:
  • Degree in Engineering, Finance, or Law (Master’s preferred)
  • 15+ years’ experience in the power or energy sector, including 5+ years at executive or GM level
  • Proven experience with IPPs, project finance, and large‑scale generation assets
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills
