Job summary

A leading pump and valve manufacturer in Johannesburg is seeking a Project Manager to oversee sales projects. Requirements
  • Fluent in Mandarin Chinese (spoken and written) and English
  • Strong understanding of pump and valve systems, specifications, and applications
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and documentation
  • Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Willingness to travel locally and internationally as required
Preferred Attributes
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification
  • Mechanical Engineer with minimum 5 years managerial experience across market areas
  • Experience working with Chinese suppliers and manufacturers
  • Familiarity with international trade regulations and logistics
  • Ability to read, write and speak Mandarin
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365
  • Computer literacy; working knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and SAP
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee pump and valve sales projects from initiation to completion.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure timely delivery and quality standards.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with Chinese‑speaking clients and suppliers.
  • Prepare project plans, timelines, and budgets; monitor progress and adjust as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and client requirements.
  • Provide technical support and guidance on pump and valve products.
  • Identify opportunities for business growth within Chinese clientele projects.
  • Handle documentation, reporting, and communication in both English and Chinese.
  • Assist fellow employees with daily calibration functions as and when required.

Carry out all other reasonable tasks that may be delegated from time to time.
