Job summary

A leading mining company is looking for an experienced Engineer to lead maintenance and operational strategies. You will ensure safety compliance and optimize engineering processes while building strong stakeholder relationships. Ideal candidates have a degree/diploma in Engineering, relevant certifications, and a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role. Your expertise in the mining environment and strong leadership skills will be vital for achieving production targets and fostering a safe workplace.

Qualifications

  • Medically fit to work in the specific business area.
  • Clear security screening record.

  • Minimum of 3 Years’ experience as an appointed 2.13.1 Engineer

  • Planning, cost of ownership and financial models
  • Knowledge of planned maintenance strategies
  • Knowledge of Company, Commercial law, Minerals Act, BCEA and appropriate legislation
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Medically fit to work in the specific business area.
  • Clear security screening record.
  • Valid driver’s license (if applicable).

  • Leadership & Strategy Development

  • Lead and manage resources to deliver production targets and projects as required. Maintenance Strategy
  • Develop, implement and monitor engineering maintenance, risk and operational strategies and plans.
  • Provide and oversee engineering services, infrastructure (roads, power, water) and equipment availability are adequate and maintained to meet operational goals. Continuous Improvement
  • Manage, implement and contribute to continuous improvement and asset optimisation initiatives and projects for engineering processes.
  • Stakeholder Relations
  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders across the organisation and externally at all levels and cross-functionally.
  • Ensure open communication channels with all relevant stakeholders. Building a values-based organisational culture
  • Actively support and meaningfully participate in the execution of the segment specific organisational development plan. This support will manifest in the targeted shift in culture as described by a valid culture assessment. ESG Compliance
  • Align to international responsible mining principles.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal, environmental, occupational health and safety and risk management standards and best practices.

  • Maintain and comply with SHE standards within the work environment.

  • Design the specific Operations’ discipline structure to support the achievement of the organisational mandate.

  • Set the specific Operations’ discipline performance targets and criteria that align with organisational goals for the team. Employee Relations:
  • Drive the Organisational Culture and Climate within the Business Unit to ensure achievement of organisational objectives and employee safety. Training and Development:
  • Drive a culture of Learning and Continuous Improvement within the specific Operation to ensure achievement of organisational objectives and safety.
  • Mentor individuals to enhance the individual`s knowledge, skills, values and attitude.
  • Create opportunities for development through participation and involvement in new business or technology enhancement projects for team members.
  • Provide coaching to team members on an ongoing basis. Transformation & Sustainability:
