Purpose of the Role

The Manager: Communications and Advocacy will manage and coordinate internal and external communications across diverse channels and audiences. Reporting to the Senior Manager: Communications and Advocacy this position will ensure the organisation is represented effectively on government and stakeholder platforms strengthening brand visibility and promoting the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) vision.

Minimum Qualifications
  • A recognised qualification at NQF Level 7.
  • A relevant NQF Level 8 qualification will be an advantage.
Minimum Experience
  • At least 6 years of relevant work experience of which 3 years must be in a supervisory role.
  • International experience or experience within the education sector and / or an understanding of comparative education will be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement internal and external communication strategies.
  • Provide strategic communications advice and expertise to leadership.
  • Develop and execute the organisation's brand strategy.
  • Oversee the digital marketing strategy ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
  • Plan and manage digital messaging analytics and content optimisation for visibility and engagement.
  • Coordinate and manage the organisation's media events programme.
  • Oversee the creation of innovative search-optimised digital content.
  • Manage and oversee corporate events and stakeholder engagements.
  • Develop, implement and monitor the customer feedback index.
  • Oversee internal communication policies, procedures and processes.
  • Collaborate with national and international counterparts on communication initiatives.
  • Manage media relations and stakeholder perceptions including responses to media queries.
  • Build and maintain professional stakeholder networks.
  • Lead, mentor and develop employees within the Communications and Advocacy unit.
