Job Description Finance Manager

Our client is the UK's leading independent HR Recruitment and Executive Search business with offices in London and Birmingham as well as operating in New York.

Location: London

Working Arrangement: Hybrid (combination of remote and office-based work)

Reporting to: Head of Finance

The Finance will be responsible for overseeing and managing the financial operations of the company in London. This senior leadership role requires strong financial expertise, strategic thinking, and excellent managerial skills.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Financial Management:
    • Perform day‑to‑day accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.
    • Support the preparation of financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
    • Conduct analysis of financial data, identifying trends and providing insightful recommendations.
  2. Payroll Management:
    • Oversee the payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely payment to employees.
    • Prepare and submit payroll reports, including tax filings and statutory deductions.
    • Collaborate with HR to address payroll-related inquiries and resolve any discrepancies.
  3. Compliance and Reporting:
    • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and guidelines.
    • Prepare tax returns, supporting documentation, and other compliance reports.
    • Assist with audit preparations and provide necessary documentation.
  4. Systems and Process Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities for process optimisation and efficiency gains.
    • Implement changes and enhancements to financial and payroll systems.
    • Contribute to the development and implementation of internal controls.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in finance and payroll accounting roles
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations
  • Proficiency in using financial software and advanced MS Excel skills
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
  • Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks effectively
