Management Accountant / Client Manager
Location: Hybrid / Remote (South Africa, working UK hours)

At GCO Partners, we connect strong talent with ambitious businesses across the globe. We are hiring a Management Accountant / Client Manager to support one of our UK partners, a fast-growing accounting practice focused on SMEs and LLPs.
This role is ideal for a qualified accountant who thrives in client-facing environments. You’ll oversee a portfolio of UK clients, review work completed by offshore teams, and provide the insights and strategic advice that help owners make smarter financial decisions.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare and review monthly and quarterly management accounts in line with UK GAAP.
- Act as the main point of contact for a portfolio of UK SME and LLP clients.
- Review and oversee the work of offshore/junior accountants, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Advise clients on VAT, personal tax, and corporation tax matters (with support from specialists where required).
- Provide commercial insight, such as advising on dividends, cashflow management, and profitability.
- Maintain organised working papers, reconciliations, and compliance records.
- Contribute to process improvements and efficiencies across the client portfolio.
What We’re Looking For
- Qualified Accountant: CA(SA), ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent.
- 3–5 years’ post-qualification experience, ideally with UK client exposure.
- Strong knowledge of UK GAAP, FRS 102, VAT, and LLP structures.
- Prior experience in a Client Manager / Account Manager role in practice.
- Proficiency with Xero, QuickBooks, and Iris (highly advantageous).
- Strong communication skills – able to explain financial concepts clearly to business owners.
- Commercial mindset with the ability to build and grow client relationships.
