Qualifications

  • Support manufacturing on technical issues by troubleshooting and maintaining machines.

Overview

An established automotive manufacturing supplier is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to join their team. The successful candidate will be required to have strong electrical and mechanical experience, including automation and robotic programming.

Requirements
  • Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Trade Test Certificate (Millwright preferred) or Engineering qualification
  • 5+ years related experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of hydraulic systems
  • Crane and injection moulding experience would be advantageous
  • Experience with Programming of Siemens PLC's and ABB, Motoman & Fanuc robots highly advantageous
  • Staff management experience advantageous
Responsibilities
  • Support manufacturing on all technical issues (electrical, automation and mechanical) by identifying problems, troubleshooting, taking corrective actions, and carrying out routine maintenance as to maintain machine availability allowing for production to run optimally
  • Inspect plant equipment, machinery and facilities frequently to determine faults, required maintenance and any upgrades to machinery that will benefit the machine availability
  • Supervise refurbishment and modification of existing machine and equipment
  • Supervise and assist maintenance staff with plant related issues
  • Perform various maintenance activities as required
  • Coordinate planned and preventative maintenance and repairs on machines, equipment, plant and facilities
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable health and safety rules and standards in the maintenance department
  • Regularly check and inspect the material and tools inventory and place orders when needed
  • Participate in special plant projects as and when required
  • Establish and maintain good relations with suppliers
