A leading talent management firm in Johannesburg seeks a Maintenance Planner to develop maintenance schedules and monitor workplace adherence to health and safety regulations. The ideal candidate has a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and experience in high-volume manufacturing, along with analytical skills to track key performance metrics. This role requires strong communication abilities and a proactive mindset.
Develop and maintain preventive maintenance schedules and detailed task checklists.
Load, sequence, and track work orders on the CMMS / job-card system.
Coordinate spare-parts availability and procurement.
Lead or support reliability and cost-reduction improvement projects.
Draft and maintain work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs) aligned withIATF
Administer job-card lifecycle : create, assign, update, and close work orders with accurate documentation.
Monitor key metrics such as Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) and Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) and report findings to management.
Ensure workplace cleanliness and adherence to all Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations.
Grade 12 or equivalent; National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
35 years experience as a Maintenance Planner in automotive or high-volume manufacturing.
Physically fit and able to pass occupational medical tests.
Strong communication skills and sober habits.
Ability to work under pressure and independently.
Successful completion of company skills assessment (Score of 11 required).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an understanding of reliability metrics.
Proficient in MS Office; experience with CMMS advantageous.
Excellent technical writing, presentation, and training abilities.
Self-motivated, proactive, flexible, and results-driven.
Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
