Job summary

A leading poultry company in Cape Town seeks a Maintenance Manager responsible for managing teams in the Broiler Maintenance Department. Candidates should have at least 5 years of maintenance experience, with a strong mechanical background preferred. Responsibilities include planning work schedules, overseeing maintenance on farms, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. Must be computer literate and fluent in English. Weekend work may be required.

Job description

The Ideal Candidate Would Be Responsible For

• Managing various teams in Broiler Maintenance Department (Civil, Concrete, Fencing, Painters, Carpenters, Project Team).
• Planning and organising daily work schedules
• Oversee the maintenance done by the teams on the Broiler Farms
• Responsible for job cards and safety checklists
• Responsible for the management of tools movement
• Manage labour related issues and time and attendance
• Conduct on the job training with staff
• Adhere and maintain the 20 Keys model in the division
• Managing Risk Control/ Occupational Health/Biosecurity requirements and standards as per relevant legislation and Astral Operating Practices

The Successful Candidate Must Meet The Following Requirements

• Matric or Equivalent qualification
• Must be familiar with the Poultry industry
• At least 5 years’ experience in maintenance
• Must have at least 3 years’ experience in managing a team
• Strong mechanical background will be advantageous
• Must be computer literate
• Fluent in English and an additional official language
• Must be able to work in a highly pressured environment
• Ability to work within a team environment
• Willing to work weekends, public holidays
• Must have a valid Driver’s license and PDP
