Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking a Machine Tool Fitter with trade testing and extensive machine tool maintenance experience in Johannesburg. Candidates should possess strong mechanical skills, the ability to work independently, and experience with CNC machines. Ideal candidates will also have a red seal qualification, excellent fault-finding abilities, and be capable of working shifts. Own transport is preferred. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment focusing on both mechanical and electrical machine maintenance.

Qualifications

• Trade Tested Fitter with 10 years experience.

Job description

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required

Machine Tool Fitter

• Trade Tested Fitter with 10 years experience.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
• Ability to measure with verniers, micrometers, thread gauges etc.
• Ability to strip and assemble gearboxes.
• Ability to draft a materials list and complete simple sketches and drawings.
• Ability to do routine maintenance and attend to mechanical break downs when required.
• Ability to strip and assemble lead screws and ball screws.
• Must be familiar with setting gibs.
• Must have hydraulics and pneumatics operating machinery experience.
• Must be familiar with electromagnetic and mechanical clutches.
• Must be able to work independently and adhere to deadlines.
• Must have proven ability to do fault finding.
• Understand the safe working procedure of the machines.
• Must be able to adhere to general housekeeping rules.
• Own transport

Machine Tool Millwright

• Extensive Machine tool Maintenance experience
• Able to read and understand electrical drawings
• Medically fit to work without restrictions
• Candidate must be able to work independently
• Good communications skills
• Ability to strip and assemble different types of machines
• Be able to repair breakdowns , electrical and mechanical
• Knowledge of Machine Tool Gearboxes and their associated parts is essential
• Knowledge of Ball Screws will be required
• Must have extensive experience in fault finding on CNC machine Tools
• Must be Familiar with PLC's

Minimum Education & Experience required

• Matric Or N3
• Qualified Millwright with red seal
• years Work experience in a Machine Shop Preferred
• Knowledge and experience of conventional and CNC machine Tools machinery
• Strong mathematical and technical skills with attention to detail
• Must be able to work shifts
