Job summary

A leading aquatic operations firm is seeking a Lifeguard – Shallow Water Guard to ensure the safety of all guests and employees at their facilities. Candidates should have at least a High School Diploma and prior experience in hospitality or guest-facing roles. Responsibilities include maintaining water attraction operations and upholding safety standards. Strong English proficiency is required, and knowledge of Arabic is a plus. The role involves working in varying environmental conditions and requires flexibility in scheduling.

Qualifications

  • Experience in hospitality, recreation, amusement, entertainment, or guest-facing industries.
  • Previous or current lifeguard certification and operational experience is an advantage.
  • Experience in the Middle East and/or international environments preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety of all guests and employees.
  • Maintain active certification and meet requirements of the ILTP Shallow Water Lifeguard License.
  • Support daily operation of all aquatic attractions.
  • Uphold safety and guest service standards.
  • Respond promptly to medical emergencies.
  • Assist guests with lost children or separated family members.

2.2 Job-Specific Responsibilities
  • Ensure the safety of all guests and employees, with an emphasis on preventing drowning or aquatic-related incidents.
  • Maintain active certification and meet all requirements of the International Lifeguard Training Program (ILTP) Shallow Water Lifeguard License.
  • Support the daily operation of all aquatic attractions, including pools, slides, family zones, and other water-based features.
  • Uphold safety and guest service standards in accordance with:
    • Aquatics risk management protocols
    • Applicable safety regulations and industry standards
    • Guest experience objectives and KPIs
  • Enforce all safety requirements and attraction-specific rules.
  • Respond promptly to medical emergencies within the limits of certification and training.
  • Maintain cleanliness of all guest and staff areas, including non-aquatic zones.
  • Assist guests in situations involving lost children or separated family members.
  • Collaborate with other operational departments as required.
  • Perform duties that require prolonged standing, movement across various elevations, and repeated access to ride platforms.
  • Work in varying environmental conditions such as heat, cold, rain, sand, and wind.
  • Work scheduled shifts on weekends, holidays, and non-operational hours as operationally required, including training sessions, meetings, events, and after-hours assignments.
  • Comply with all workplace policies, procedures, and operational requirements.
  • Contribute to creating a fun, safe, and positive environment for guests and colleagues.
  • Perform any additional duties assigned by management that support operational success and guest satisfaction.

4. Job Specifications Education
  • Minimum: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience
  • Experience in hospitality, recreation, amusement, entertainment, or guest-facing industries.
