A global customer experience company seeks a Legal Counsel in Cape Town to provide legal support for employment and commercial matters. The ideal candidate holds an LLB, has at least 4 years of relevant experience, and possesses strong knowledge of South African labour law. As Legal Counsel EMEA working on site in Cape Town, you'll be a part of creating and delivering amazing customer experiences while you also experience TTEC, an award-winning employment experience and company culture.

The successful candidate will be a part of the EMEA legal team, that provides legal support for employment matters, commercial transactions, procurement and real estate, in a way that drives both improved risk‑mitigation and efficiency.
The role requires close collaboration with senior management in the EMEA region, as well as senior lawyers across the globe, sales and operational teams, as well as third parties as needed.
This position will report to the Senior Corporate Counsel- EMEA and will work very closely with the Chief Counsel-EMEA.
This is a great opportunity for an in‑house counsel who wishes to develop on their broad‑based in‑house experience, or their employment law experience.
The role is based in Cape Town and will have scope for hybrid working.
Advising on employment matters; labour litigation strategy and handling (including CCMA matters) and representing the company as needed.
Advising the company on corporate, data privacy and other legal matters as needed.
Assisting with compliance training, enforcement and investigations.
Developing relationships with key internal clients and functions.
LLB and admission as an attorney or advocate in South Africa.
At least 4 years of experience in‑house or at a law firm, and strong knowledge of South African labour and privacy law (preferably with some focus on corporate and commercial law).
Experience with reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts and / or company secretarial matters is a plus.
Strong team‑player.
Integrity, judgement, and the ability to give practical advice appropriately weighing legal and business objectives.
Critical thinking and problem‑solving skills, a detail‑oriented approach, strong communication skills, and the ability to perform under pressure.
