Job description
Key Responsibilities
1. Contract Drafting, Vetting & Negotiation
  • Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to structure deals and provide practical legal advice.
2. Legal Proceedings & Litigation Management
  • Manage legal proceedings end-to-end, including drafting pleadings, briefing counsel, and representing the company when required.
  • Maintain accurate litigation records and ensure consistent reporting.
3. Debt Recovery & Enforcement
  • Oversee debt-recovery strategies, settlement negotiations and enforcement proceedings.
  • Work with external attorneys, sheriffs and internal teams to accelerate recoveries.
4. Compliance, Governance & Policy Development
  • Draft, review and implement internal policies, procedures and compliance frameworks.
  • Support regulatory compliance relating to POPIA, FICA/AML, cybersecurity and other applicable laws.
  • Assist with compliance monitoring, reporting and audits.
5. Company Secretarial Support
  • Assist the Company Secretary with CIPC filings, maintaining statutory registers, preparing resolutions and ensuring Companies Act compliance.
  • Assist and coordinate board packs and governance documentation.
6. Operational Legal Support
  • Provide legal opinions and support to cross-functional teams.
  • Identify potential legal and compliance risks and recommend solutions.
Key Requirements
