We're looking for a dynamic Hospitality Lecturer to join our team in Durban!

A Lecturer facilitates learning using a variety of methods such as lectures, demonstrations, tutorials, simulations, and skills development.

They plan and conduct assessments in line with the school's Assessment Policy and Procedure and ensure accurate records are kept of student achievements.

Lecturers provide academic support to individual students or class groups through mentoring and coaching.

They also carry out research into current industry trends and represent the school in industry bodies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, conduct, and record assessments in compliance with institutional policies.
  • Provide academic support and mentorship to students.
  • Stay updated on hospitality trends and integrate them into teaching.
  • Represent the school in professional and industry forums.
Requirements

Academic Qualification : Level 8 or 9 qualification in Hospitality or a related field (or equivalent).

Experience : Minimum of 2 years' relevant lecturing / teaching experience in Hospitality Management or practical experience within the hospitality industry.

Interpersonal Skills : Ability to engage positively with students, parents, and sponsors.

Communication : Strong verbal and written communication skills across all levels.

Regulatory Knowledge : Understanding of legislation relevant to education and training in South Africa.

Industry Insight : Appreciation of the hospitality and food service sectors.

Professional Skills : Excellent presentation and organizational abilities.
