Overview

Newlyn Group is a diversified Property development company focused on Industrial / Logistics developments. Our Head Office is based in Morningside; Durban and we are looking for a Leasing Manager to join our property division.

Experience and Skills Required
  • 3-5 years’ experience as a Leasing manager / broker
  • Proven track record for deal closing
  • Experience in Leases and legal contracts
  • Strong Broker Network and potential client database building
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with the Development, Facilities, Finance, Legal, Marketing and Risk Teams
  • Brief Marketing Team for Property brochures
  • Sound interpersonal skills and an ability to present vacancies and development opportunities
  • Working knowledge of Financials (Feasibilities) preferred
  • In-depth understanding of Microsoft office suite
  • Professional level of verbal and written communication skills
  • A proactive approach to problem solving, solutions driven with the ability to provide information to inform decision makers
  • Must be able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Key Deliverables
  • Active marketing of existing vacancies, new developments and off‑pan developments within property portfolio
  • Coordinating with Development Team
  • Lease renewal pipeline management and proposals
  • Proposals for new rental opportunities
  • Market research – Logistics industry, area specific rentals and demand
  • Coordinate and attend Broker functions
  • Drafting of leases (with legal department)
  • Site visits, property inspections and handovers
  • Tenant liaison
  • Arrear rental management in tandem with Finance department
  • Negotiating lease agreements, and internal approval of same
  • Monitoring and reporting in terms of legal matters
  • Cold‑calling
  • Bi‑weekly reporting to Senior Exec’s on leasing status

Market Related (dependent on experience)
