Purpose Of The Role

Support the winemaking team during the busy harvest season. This seasonal role is ideal for an entry- to mid-level candidate interested in gaining hands-on experience in wine production and laboratory analysis. The successful candidate will assist in monitoring grape quality, conducting routine lab tests, and supporting the production team to ensure high-quality wine outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with sampling grapes and must for laboratory analysis.
  • Perform routine chemical and microbiological tests under supervision (e.g., Brix, acidity, pH, temperature).
  • Record and maintain accurate lab data and production logs.
  • Support the lab team in monitoring fermentation and other production processes.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of lab equipment and workspaces.
  • Assist with quality control checks during harvest.
  • Follow safety and hygiene protocols at all times
Education & Experience
  • Matric or Certificate/Diploma in Viticulture, Enology, Food Science or related field.
  • Knowledge of wine production or laboratory work is an advantage.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, seasonal environment.
  • Good physical stamina, as some manual tasks may be required.
  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Own reliable transport
