Our client is a fast-growing fintech lending to small and medium-sized businesses in the UK.

Role Overview

Our client is looking for a Junior Underwriting Assistant to join their Underwriting team. This role is suited for a new or recent graduate with a background in accounting or finance, with up to 2-3 years of experience. You will assist the Underwriting (UW) team by preparing deals for underwriting and conducting preliminary reviews, which include researching companies and reviewing credit reports.

This role is key in supporting the UW team, with the potential to grow into a full Underwriting role if a position becomes available within the next 1-2 years. This is a great opportunity to develop within the team as they look to expand in SA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the underwriting team in preparing deals for underwriting
  • Conduct preliminary reviews of potential clients, including company research and reviewing credit reports
  • Support the UW team in maintaining accurate records and documentation
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth deal progression
  • Stay informed on industry trends and financial developments
