Junior Production Manager

A Junior Production Manager position at a leading FMCG Home and Personal Care concern to manage and lead the manufacturing functions and responsible for the technical management, supervision and control of the industrial production processes. The Production Manager shall provide strategic and operational inputs for effective and efficient asset management of the site in line with best practice and manufacturing principles.

Job Summary
  • Manage the KPA's of subordinates including the management of all production departments.
  • Oversee production processes and lead the manufacturing function within budget and output targets to meet customer requirements and standards.
  • Ensure daily / weekly / monthly targets are met in line with delivery expectations.
  • Manage the team on best practice and establish standard policies and procedures.
  • Implement and manage continuous improvement and modern manufacturing principles.
  • Highlight deficiencies and recommend changes in training, working practices and processes.
  • Drive process improvements on Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
  • Organise the repair and routine maintenance of production equipment.
  • Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems.
  • Ensure compliance to all OHS Act requirements.
Key Requirements
  • Minimum of 7 to 10 years manufacturing experience, preferably in the FMCG manufacturing industry.
  • Relevant BTech qualification, engineering or production diploma.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills with an ability to interact with senior management and to work in diverse teams.
  • Working knowledge of quality management systems, specifically ISO.
