JUNIOR PRIMARY MUSIC TEACHER GRADE 000-0 and/or GRADE 1-3

Kingsmead College is an Independent, Christian day school situated in Melrose, Johannesburg, that provides an excellent, well-rounded education to girls from Grade 000 to Grade 12. The Junior School seeks to employ an innovative, creative educator who is eager to join the dynamic Arts & Music team.

The successful applicant must meet the following criteria:

• BMus degree and experience in teaching at Junior School level.
• Comfortable in at least one instrument, can contribute to the extra-curricular sphere of the Music department.
• Choral conducting experience will be an advantage.
• Competent in integrating technology and making use of digital platforms in teaching, including experience in a music software programme such as Sibelius.
• A comprehensive understanding of cognitive education and the thinking skills embedded in the Kingsmead curriculum.
• An innovative and inclusive approach to teaching girls, a willingness to research and apply best practices concerning differentiation and inclusion specifically in girls’ education.
• The desire to engage with the ethos and spirit of Kingsmead.
