Position Info

Key Responsibilities :

Daily Accounting & Transactional Duties
  • Manage full Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions, including invoicing, payments, and reconciliations.
  • Prepare and reconcile balance sheets, general ledger accounts, and trial balances.
  • Process and maintain the cashbook and assist with cashflow reporting.
  • Ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes.
Management Accounting & Analytical Duties
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and monitor actual performance against budget.
  • Track and analyze costs, highlighting variances for management review.
  • Support management reporting by preparing departmental and project financial summaries.
  • Assist with inventory valuation and calculation of cost of goods sold (COGS).
  • Collect and reconcile financial data from various departments and systems.
  • Support forecasting and financial projections under the guidance of senior accountants.
  • Help allocate overheads and shared costs consistently across departments or projects.
  • Maintain cost centres, project codes, and relevant financial databases.
  • Prepare basic key performance indicator (KPI) reports to support operational decision-making.
Requirements
  • BCom in Finance, Accounting, or a related financial qualification.
  • 2–6 years’ relevant accounting experience, including exposure to management accounting functions.
  • Ideally completed SAIPA articles.
  • Strong experience in Google Sheets is highly desirable; otherwise, solid Excel skills including pivot tables, XLOOKUPs, and macros.
  • Proficient in accounting software ideally Xero
  • Understanding of general ledger, trial balance, and financial reporting.
  • Basic understanding of budgeting, cost analysis, and financial forecasting.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small finance team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
