Requirements:

  • Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
  • Minimum of 1 year of post-admission experience.
  • Knowledge of Labour, Criminal, and Civil law.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Comfortable using AI tools such as ChatGPT and interested in legal tech advancements.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Adaptable and able to work well under pressure.
  • Demonstrates empathy and a strong commitment to public service.
Responsibilities, but not limited to:
  • Provide professional and timely legal advice telephonically to clients.
  • Draft and send written correspondence on behalf of clients.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure consistent service delivery.
  • Maximize the use of AI tools (e.g., My AI Lawyer) to improve efficiency and advice quality.
  • Determine whether legal matters can be resolved via the helpline before escalating.
  • Remain up to date with legal developments, particularly in Labour, Criminal, and Civil law.
  • Handle all queries with empathy, professionalism, and within prescribed timeframes.
  • Maintain accurate records of interactions and legal advice provided.
  • Contribute to the refinement of tech-enabled legal services.
  • Promote and support the use of digital solutions within the legal team.
