Join the premier crypto-native accounting firm recognized by Forbes as a 2025 Best-In-State Top CPA.
We’re hiring a Junior Data Analyst to support forensic blockchain data reconstruction for tax, audit and financial reporting. This is not BI, dashboarding, SQL, or data science work. It is high-volume, repetitive, accuracy-driven forensic digital asset processing inside an accounting firm.
We serve high-net-worth crypto investors, protocols, startups, and blockchain enabled businesses with elite tax, accounting, and advisory services.
We are looking for forensic-style data thinkers who want to build mastery in digital asset analysis with direct impact on accounting, tax, and compliance deliverables.
Camuso CPA is not hiring seat-fillers. We’re building a new wave of crypto-native operators from the ground up.
You will clean messy datasets, trace wallet-to-wallet fund flows, rebuild transaction histories, categorize thousands of crypto transactions and create audit-ready outputs.
Work is rule-based, SOP-driven, and requires strong written documentation. You must enjoy deep-focus work, financial logic, and precision.
Why This Role is Rare
- You’ll work in the most complex data ecosystem in modern finance: on-chain transaction tracing and high-volume digital asset analytics.
- You’ll work directly with a Forbes-recognized U.S. firm, not through an agency or middleman.
- You’ll gain the skills few global analysts possess: parsing blockchain datasets, tracing fund flows across chains, identifying wallet behavior patterns, and decoding crypto financial activity at scale.
- You’ll be mentored directly by elite talent (accountants and analysts) in both the U.S. and South Africa and have the opportunity to earn your way into higher roles as we grow.
This Role Is Not for You If:
- You can’t work U.S. EST hours full‑time (6am–3pm EST)
- You’re working multiple jobs or freelance gigs
- You have zero interest in crypto, DeFi, or Web3
- You can’t pass a background check
- You’re uncomfortable doing cleanup work and SOP-based tasks
- You want soft deadlines and low‑pressure workflows
- You need hand‑holding, reminders or soft accountability
About Camuso CPA
We were:
- The first U.S. firm to accept crypto
- Featured in Accounting Today, Financial Times and more
- Named a 2025 Best‑In‑State Top CPA by Forbes
- Featured in Accounting Today for digital asset accounting approach
- Focused exclusively on crypto investors and Web3 companies
We’re building a firm that understands the complexity of on‑chain finance, supports elite founders and redefines what remote accounting can be.
The Role: Junior Data Analysts (Crypto Cleanup + Web3 Accounting)
This is a full‑time, remote contractor role. You’ll work across:
- Crypto investors (traders, LPs, NFT collectors, DeFi users)
- Web3 companies (DAOs, protocols, exchanges, Web3 startups)
- Digital founders (SaaS, eComm, agencies, content creators)
Primary focus will be crypto cleanup, categorization, and reconciliation.
You may also be assigned web3 accounting and digital founder engagements depending on capacity and workload. All new hires begin with internal crypto cleanup and reporting tasks to validate work quality, communication, and reliability before advancing to higher‑scope work.
Core Responsibilities
- Analyze high‑volume on‑chain datasets (100K+ transactions, 100+ wallets)
- Trace fund flows across chains, bridges, CEXs, and wallets
- Perform data cleaning, normalization, categorization, and reconciliation
- Use blockchain explorers (Etherscan, Solscan, BTC explorers, etc.)
- Identify wallet patterns, tagging anomalies, and transaction behavior
- Support preparation of analytical datasets for accounting & tax reporting
- Work with CSV exports, API pulls, and raw blockchain data
- Build clear, structured working papers and documentation
- Follow SOPs and replicate analytical processes consistently
- Participate in daily team check‑ins
This is NOT a BI, dashboarding, SQL warehouse, or corporate analytics role.
Our analysts work in a forensic, accounting‑adjacent environment where the primary responsibilities include:
- tracing on‑chain fund flows
- cleaning and normalizing raw transactional datasets
- structuring large datasets into audit‑ready outputs
- identifying patterns in blockchain activity
- supporting accounting & tax workflows with accurate data
If you are motivated by:
- transactional accuracy
- forensic analysis
- pattern recognition
- structured SOP‑driven workflows
- making messy data clean and reliable
- You enjoy structured, routine, repetitive analytical work and take pride in accuracy, not creative analytics or open‑ended projects.
If you prefer:
- dashboards
- visualization projects
- UX/product analytics
- AI experimentation
- high‑level strategy presentations
This role is not a fit.
This role is forensic data work within an accounting firm. You must genuinely want to build expertise in accounting‑side data integrity, transaction tracing, and reconciliation not business analytics or modeling. It is ideal for detail‑focused thinkers who enjoy precision work, pattern detection, anomaly hunting and structured workflows.
We require a minimum 2–4 year commitment. If you see this as a stepping stone to BI, SQL engineering, or data science, you will not enjoy this role.
80% of this role is repetitive forensic transaction analysis, cleanup, and reconciliation. If you prefer variety, creative analysis, or changing problem sets, this is not a fit.
