Architect Job Specification
1. Job Summary

The Architect is responsible for designing and managing the construction documentation for building projects, ranging from initial concept development through to construction administration. This role requires strong design sensibilities, technical proficiency, project management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams.

2. Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Documentation:
    • Develop architectural designs from concept sketches through detailed construction documents (CDs) across all project phases (Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents).
    • Prepare and manage drawings, specifications, and reports using industry-standard software (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD).
    • Ensure designs comply with building codes, zoning ordinances, accessibility standards, and other relevant regulations.
  • Project Management:
    • Assist in managing project timelines, budgets, and resources.
    • Coordinate and manage the work of external consultants (structural, MEP, civil engineers, etc.).
    • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Construction Administration:
    • Review and process shop drawings and submittals from contractors.
    • Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and ensure adherence to design intent and specifications.
    • Prepare field reports, change orders, and pay applications.
  • Team Collaboration:
    • Mentor and direct junior staff and technicians.
    • Participate in client presentations and team design charrettes.
3. Required Qualifications and Skills
Education and Licensure
  • Professional Degree: A minimum of a Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) or Master of Architecture (M.Arch) from an accredited program.
