Job description

Employment Type : Full-time (exclusive commitment)

Compensation : $1,-$1, (commensurate with experience, scope & location)

Time-zone alignment : 9am–5pm U.S. Eastern

About the Job

You turn chaos into clean books.

As a Junior Accountant / Bookkeeper with Cloud Accountant Staffing, you’ll reconcile accounts, categorize transactions, clear discrepancies, and deliver tidy, decision-ready financials—while keeping clients informed and unblocked.

You’ll grow range quickly by supporting a portfolio of small businesses across industries and tools, with clear playbooks and close coaching.

About the Role

You'll be the steady rhythm behind "month-end calm" : clean ledgers, on-time submissions, and crisp updates that clients actually understand.

Expect real ownership—daily check-ins, weekly 1 : 1s, clear KPIs—and a supportive environment where SOPs, templates, and feedback loops help you get better fast.

You bring the curiosity; we’ll bring the playbook.

What You’ll Do

Categorize transactions and reconcile bank, credit card, merchant, and loan accounts with airtight tie-outs.

Post journal entries and adjustments to ensure accuracy and completeness (prepayments, accruals, reclasses).

Maintain general ledger hygiene and keep financial records current across periods and entities.

Prepare month-end submissions for review with clear notes on variances and outstanding items.

Act as the primary point of contact for your assigned clients : answer questions, request documents, and unblock work through proactive, empathetic communication (written & verbal).

Share plain-English summaries of what changed, what’s pending, and what’s next.

Daily check-ins summarizing tasks completed, blockers, and questions; weekly 1 : 1s for goal progress.

Hit portfolio-level KPIs (response times, quality scores, month-end & year-end delivery) with coaching and templates.

What You’ll Bring

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

At least 2+ years of U.S. bookkeeping (or tax filing) experience with SMBs and at least 2+ years of direct customer communication (email / calls) supporting SMB clients.

Working knowledge of accounting principles, softwares, and modern cloud workflows.

Attention to detail that borders on fussy (in the best way) and an ownership mentality—you close loops.

Coachability : low-ego, feedback-hungry, growth-oriented.

Tool comfort : Google Workspace / Microsoft Office; bonus if you’ve touched AP / AR or expense tools.

English communication : clear, concise, and client-friendly.

The Ideal Candidate

You love turning messy inputs into balanced, reconciled, and explainable outputs.

You’re predictive, not reactive—you ask for what you need early and suggest simple fixes.

You treat SOPs and checklists as living documents—and you improve them after each win.

You thrive on consistency (habits, templates, naming) and momentum (small wins daily).

Compensation & Benefits

USD monthly compensation, competitive to market, based on experience & location.

Permanent WFH with company-provided equipment (laptop, monitor, accessories) and required specs.

15 days PTO annually + local public holidays in your country of residence.

Exposure & Learning

Exposure to diverse U.S. industries and modern bookkeeping stacks; tight feedback loops and documented methods.

Contract Status & Exclusivity

This is a full-time role.

Exclusivity is required—no part-time or freelance work once hired.

Equipment & Tools (Minimums)

Peripherals : External monitor, headset, privacy screen.

Internet : Mbps stable connection.

Success Metrics (You’ll be supported to hit these)

Month-end submissions : =50% of portfolio submitted each month.

Year-end financial package delivery : =80% by deadline.

How We Work

Quality-first : predictable close calendars, review notes, and neat folders—every time.

Security : MFA, least-privilege access, and secure file-sharing are non-negotiable.

Collaboration : Slack / Zoom check-ins, shared task boards, and fast feedback.
