The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Full Stack Development, C#, and Java, along with a strong background in project management and mentoring. Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10+ years general IT experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar IT leadership position.
  • Minimum of 10 years Full Stack Development Experience.
  • Experience overseeing and driving projects forward.
  • Experience in data warehousing would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

SUMMARY :
POSITION INFO :

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

To provide technology vision and leadership in the entire product development lifecycle including the design, development and implementation and maintenance of all new and existing South African Business Systems. To provide leadership and mentorship to the development team and ensure the team is productive. Assist in planning and implementing enterprise information systems and infrastructure to support the business operations and achieve more effective and cost beneficial enterprise-wide IT operations.

KEY RESPONSIBIITY AREAS :

To provide technology vision and leadership in the entire product development lifecycle including the design, development and implementation and maintenance of all new and existing South African Business Systems. To provide leadership and mentorship to the development team and ensure the team is productive. Assist in planning and implementing enterprise information systems and infrastructure to support the business operations and achieve more effective and cost beneficial enterprise-wide IT operations.

Overseeing the development, design, and implementation of new applications and changes to existing systems and software packages.

Responsible for the end-to-end development, reviewing, and publishing all new changes in applications.

Identify emerging information technologies to be assimilated, integrated, and introduced within the company.

Develop system documentation and keep it updated with every version update.

Develop testing strategies and system documentation ensuring to cover both technical and end user levels.

Assess new computing technologies to determine potential value for the company.

Oversee ongoing improvements and the feasibility of system enhancements.

Direct the information and data integrity of the company and its business units.

Implement the objectives of the information technology needs of the company to ensure the system capabilities are responsive to the needs of the company’s growth and objectives.

Advise senior management on strategic systems conversions and integrations in support of business goals and objectives.

Interact with company managers on internal and external operations that are impacted by the capture, storage, processing and dissemination of information.

Ensure that the security of the information systems is paramount in the development lifecycle in adherence to all corporate standards.

Lead and manage the application development and support resources that fall within the information technology department.

Required to perform any reasonable task as and when required by management.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & TRAINING :
  • Matric or equivalent qualification
  • Degree in Computer Science or Similar Qualification
  • Minimum of 10+ years general IT experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar IT leadership position.
  • Minimum of 10 years Full Stack Development Experience (majority with C#)
  • Have knowledge of multiple back-end languages (like C#, Java), back-end frameworks and front-end frameworks
  • Have extensive knowledge and working experience of MSSQL databases, web servers and application services.
  • Have extensive working knowledge of EDI frameworks, RESTful APIs, webservices and similar technologies.
  • Have extensive knowledge of and experience in testing and debugging.
  • Have experience with coaching and mentoring other developers.
  • Experience overseeing and driving projects forward.
  • Experience in the / Supply Chain environment will be an advantage.
  • Experience in data warehousing would be an advantage.
  • Experience in PowerBI would be an advantage.
  • Be familiar with cloud platforms and containerization technologies in general with Azure working experience.
