Description

A leading financial institution is looking for an IT Infrastructure And IT Operations Manager to join their team in Pretoria GP. The main purpose of this role will be to provide reliable high quality IT Services for business IT systems and infrastructure, aligning service delivery with business needs.

Responsibilities
  • Provide reliable high quality IT services for business IT systems and infrastructure, aligning service delivery with business needs.
  • Provide for the information technology needs of a workforce.
  • Exercise leadership and use technological skills to facilitate planning, procurement, configuration, operations, maintenance, data integrity and security, and end‑user support for IT resources and systems.
  • Manage IT infrastructure staff by recruiting, training, communicating job expectations and monitoring performance.
  • Oversee the annual IT infrastructure budget and ensure cost effectiveness.
  • Monitor daily operations including server, hardware, software and operating systems.
  • Coordinate technology installations, upgrades and maintenance.
  • Select and recommend new and replacement hardware and software when necessary.
  • Test, troubleshoot and modify information systems so they operate effectively.
  • Generate performance reports for operating systems and the Service Desk function.
  • Ensure all IT activities are performed within applicable laws, codes and regulations.
  • Evaluate technology risks to develop a robust disaster recovery plan and backup procedures.
  • Keep up to date with advances in technology and industry best practice.
  • Demonstrate deep technical and strategic understanding of IT services and operations.
  • Solve complex and diverse problems by continually re‑evaluating new and/or conflicting factors.
  • Manage internal and external communications and be the primary contact of escalation for business issues.
  • Assist with management of relationships with external organisations and suppliers.
  • Manage ICT equipment and license portfolio for utilisation, warranty support and contract compliance.
  • Create asset life‑cycle plans for hardware and software.
  • Ensure audit compliance.
  • Implement ITSM, ITIL and other relevant standards.
  • Discuss and agree on infrastructure elements of the Service Level Agreement (SLA) with business.
  • Manage and measure according to SLA.
  • Report to the CIO monthly on SLA achievement statistics and exceptions.
  • Create and oversee implementation of staff development plans.
  • Liaise with business and other members of the ICT management team to ensure alignment.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology Systems, Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • ITIL certification.
  • 8-10 years of relevant ICT experience in operations management.
  • Previous experience leading an operations management team within an IT capacity.
  • Proven knowledge and experience delivering technical support services.
  • Demonstrated experience managing IT systems and IT operations at a senior level with increasing responsibilities in large and diverse business settings.
  • Experience working through major organizational change.
  • Track record of providing cloud infrastructure services to a geographically diverse and complex organization.
  • Track record of successful large project implementations.
  • Ability to work effectively with other managers to achieve key business and technology goals.
