IntroductionWe are a leading freight and logistics company based in Gauteng and currently seeking an experienced HR Manager.

The HR Manager acts as the primary contact within the business and all our stakeholders in respect of all HR and IR matters.

The HR Manager manages the quality of the HR service delivery by setting specific objectives and driving implementation, ensuring that HR policies, practices, and procedures are understood and implemented and that legislative compliance is attained at all times.

The HR Manager provides day-to-day advice to employees and management on how to respond to people issues and employee relations matters.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Update HR policies for the company in accordance with best practice and the Labour Relations Act.
  • Ensure high talent retention rate, create development plans for all employees by engaging with employees on a regular basis and provide coaching to employees where applicable.
  • Create and update job profiles for all positions.
  • Ensure all employee matters of concern are dealt with timeously and proactively.
  • Collaborate and assist Management with recruitment activities, coordinating interviews, conducting exit interviews, assessing and evaluating candidates for select positions, drafting offer letters, and maintaining related matters.
  • On-board new employees and ensure they understand company policies, procedures, employee benefits, and the probationary review.
  • Coordinate all internal and external training.
  • Manage the Learnership programme and ensure timely annual renewals.
  • Partake in the Employment Equity Committee and Social and Ethics Committee.
  • Interact with Finance to ensure the company's BBB-EE scorecard requirements are met.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant Labour-related legislations.
  • Prepare, submit, and administer EE reports, Workplace Skills Plan, and Annual Training reports.
  • Assist with liaising with various employee benefit providers and foster effective relationships, addressing all employee queries timeously.
  • Assist with contacting recruiters and psychometric service providers.
  • Monitor proceedings of disciplinary hearings with the appointed independent chair by guiding management to ensure fairness and consistency.
  • Administer and submit IOD claims to the Compensation Commissioner.
  • Keep up to date with all Department of Labour Gazettes and ensure timely implementation of compulsory requirements within the business.
  • Capture WSP & ATR on an annual basis.
  • Drive all CSI related initiatives for the business.
  • Interact with Labour Department during requested audits.
  • Carry out other ad hoc administrative tasks.
  • Provide advice and facilitate the performance management process within the business, including probation, performance appraisals, and poor work performance counselling.
  • Identify and advise employee training needs in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Process and capture new and temporary employees, transfers, promotions, terminations, and other payroll-related services to ensure timely and accurate payment of all employees.
  • Provide guidance and support to management and employees on HR / IR-related matters.
  • Conduct regular HR audits to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Participate in strategic planning and decision-making processes with senior management.
  • Work closely with Senior Management to develop and execute HR strategies that enhance organisational effectiveness and employee engagement.
  • Drive initiatives related to talent management, workforce planning, and succession planning.
  • Prepare regular reports on HR metrics, including turnover rates, engagement levels, and other key performance indicators.
  • Utilize data and analytics to make informed recommendations for continuous improvement.
Desired Experience & Qualification
  • Qualifications : Grade 12Diploma or Degree in Human Resources
  • Skills and Experience Required : 5 Years Experience in Transport and Logistics Environment.
  • Extensive experience in HR management and NBCRFLI Main Agreement, including leadership roles.
  • Preferable experience in Transport and Logistics environment.
  • Strong strategic thinking and business acumen.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate with Senior Leadership.
  • Ability to think strategically and provide actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
