Job summary

A leading energy and chemicals company based in South Africa seeks a Technical Support Specialist in Sasolburg. This role involves providing independent technical support and formulating approaches in a complex process environment. Candidates must possess a BTech degree and a minimum of six years' relevant experience, particularly in advanced control applications. The ideal applicant will demonstrate problem-solving capabilities and have strong knowledge of industry-standard systems such as DeltaV DCS and AMS.

Qualifications

• 6+ relevant years of experience in a technical support role.
• Ability to formulate technical approaches independently.
• Experience with cost-effective solutions in a complex process environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support in complex environments.
• Independently implement cost-effective solutions.
• Develop instrumentation scope of work for projects.
• Ensure compliance with legal and technical standards.

Skills

Good knowledge of the DeltaV DCS

Good knowledge of the AMS system

Good knowledge PLC’s

Good knowledge of ESD systems; HIMA

Good understanding of Bentley Navada vibration protection systems

Good understanding of level measurements and control

Knowledge of Functional Safety

Good knowledge of Explosion Prevention principles

Knowledge of different Safety Integrity Levels

Good understanding of the MOC process

Education

BTech University Bachelors Degree

Higher/Advanced Diploma
