About the Role

ALS is seeking a motivated and experienced Information Technology Support Engineer to join our team in Johannesburg, South Africa. The successful candidate will provide frontline IT support to operations throughout the Sub-Saharan Africa region. This role requires a strong technical foundation, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced multinational environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide Helpdesk and frontline technical support via phone, in-person, and remote assistance
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network-related issues
  • Install, configure and maintain computer systems, peripherals, and Group-standard software
  • Work on IT projects and support operational technology initiatives
  • Create and maintain user accounts, update asset registers, and maintain documentation
  • Ensure effective system availability and resolution of support tickets within SLA
  • Offer end-user guidance and continuous training where needed
  • Proactively monitor IT systems to ensure operational integrity
