Industrial Technical Engineering Sales Manager – OEMs & EPC Industries

Permanent position located in Johannesburg, close to Roodepoort. Preferred candidate will be able to start immediately and is willing to relocate near the company (no petrol reimbursement).

Key Qualifications
  • Education: Matric / Grade 12 required; National Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or related engineering recommended.
  • Experience: 3–7 years as a Sales Manager or supervisory role within an engineering or manufacturing company, with proven experience building and maintaining strong relationships with OEMs, contractors, consulting engineers, distributors and EPC companies.
  • Technical Skills: Must have a strong understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing processes, ability to read technical drawings, interpret specifications, and present technical solutions.
  • Sales Skills: Experience in solution selling, medium‑to‑long sales cycles, CRM usage, tender processes, technical quoting, and closing complex B2B deals.
  • Transport: Valid driver’s licence and a reliable vehicle for commuting and client visits.
  • Other: Business Management / Sales Management qualification is advantageous; knowledge of cross‑border operations and occasional provincial travel expected.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a diverse team of internal and external sales professionals, conduct performance reviews, coaching and recruitment.
  • Develop and implement annual sales strategies aligned with company targets, including market research for new opportunities and emerging technologies.
  • Identify and grow new business while expanding existing accounts, achieving monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets.
  • Present technical solutions to clients, including product demonstrations, site visits, and support proposal creation.
  • Maintain accurate sales records, CRM data, pipeline, pricing strategies, discount structures and profitability reviews.
  • Collaborate with Finance on credit control, payment terms and contract negotiations.
  • Travel frequently to customer sites, factories and project locations, including occasional cross‑border trips.
