Introduction

A premium manufacturer of luxury off-road caravans is seeking a qualified Industrial Engineer to enhance production efficiency, quality control and operational performance. Known for combining craftsmanship with engineering precision, the company builds adventure-ready products with a focus on durability and design excellence.

Duties & Responsibilities

The successful candidate will play a key role in optimising manufacturing processes, implementing quality systems and driving continuous improvement across the production environment. This is a hands‑on role suited to an engineer with strong product knowledge and practical experience in fabrication and assembly.

  • Analyse and improve existing production workflows and factory layouts
  • Design and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Quality Control systems
  • Conduct time and motion studies and introduce performance metrics
  • Collaborate with design and operations teams to align production capacity with build schedules
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance output quality and cost-effectiveness
  • Support new product introductions through engineering input and process design
  • Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and ISO 9001 standards
Desired Experience & Qualification
  • Bachelors Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a manufacturing or production environment (automotive, caravan, trailer or fabrication preferred)
  • ECSA registration as a Candidate or Professional Engineer / Technologist (advantageous)
Technical Skills & Competencies
  • Expertise in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen or similar methodologies
  • Experience with process design, workflow optimisation and factory layout planning
  • Practical knowledge of metal fabrication, assembly, electrical, plumbing and finishing processes
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks or equivalent CAD tools
  • Competence in BOM creation, ERP/MRP systems and production scheduling
  • Strong data analysis and problem‑solving abilities
