A leading health organization in Cape Town is seeking individuals for counselling and testing roles for HIV and TB services. Candidates will provide support primarily to transgender individuals while collaborating with community outreach teams. The position offers a stimulating work environment focused on professional development in the health sector, with a strong emphasis on psychosocial support and adherence to health regulations.
TB HIV Care (THC), in existence since 1929, is an internationally recognised non‑profit organisation. We provide health care services throughout South Africa to both the general population and communities at increased risk for HIV and TB, including adolescent girls and young women, sex workers and people who use drugs. THC provides a stimulating work environment and the opportunity to work with leaders in the field of HIV and TB prevention and care. Our work culture is adapted to the constantly evolving South African health care environment and will suit solution‑driven team players interested in opportunities for career development while working to connect people with care.
These incumbents will provide HIV and TB counselling and testing to transgender people in compliance with the Department of Health’s and theeci project's HIV and TB service profile and reporting requirements. They will also support community‑based HIV Testing Services (HTS), working closely with the Outreach Teams. The HST Counsellor is responsible for providing HIV/AIDS testing and counselling. The HST Counsellor also renders psychosocial support counselling and continued adherence support for participants.
